Poetry and Piano – An Evening of Polish Words and Sounds created a meaningful space for cultural connection, reflection and community belonging.
The project brought people together through Polish poetry and music, creating an intimate environment where participants could share memories, emotions and personal experiences connected with language, family traditions and cultural heritage.
The project:
• strengthened connections within the Polish community in the United Kingdom;
• supported the preservation and celebration of Polish language, literature and traditions;
• encouraged conversations about identity, family, childhood memories and cultural values;
• created opportunities for participants to share personal stories and build meaningful relationships;
• supported emotional wellbeing through artistic expression, reflection and social connection.
Through poetry, music and conversation, participants were able to reconnect with important memories, reflect on their life experiences and explore what it means to maintain cultural identity while living abroad.
The project highlighted how art and culture can create safe spaces for dialogue, belonging and connection between people of different generations.
