Poetry and Piano – An Evening of Polish Words and Sounds

Cultural and Community Project is a cultural and community project celebrating the beauty of Polish poetry, music and shared memories.

The project consists of intimate poetry evenings where Polish poems are presented through spoken word and accompanied by piano music, creating a reflective and emotionally engaging experience for participants.

Through carefully selected poetry, participants are invited to explore themes of life, memories, family, identity, love, belonging and personal experiences. The poems often become a starting point for meaningful conversations, allowing people to share their own stories, memories from childhood and connections with Polish traditions.

The intimate atmosphere of the gatherings creates a safe and welcoming space where participants can reflect on their personal journeys, discuss the challenges of maintaining cultural identity abroad and explore how Polish language, traditions and values can be passed on to future generations.

The evenings bring together moments of nostalgia, laughter and deep emotion. Participants often share favourite poems from their childhood, memories of family life and reflections on what it means to preserve a connection with Polish heritage while building a life in the United Kingdom.

To date, the project has delivered three intimate poetry evenings, engaging approximately 40 participants.
